The Mark 1 Élan delivered hiss-free DAB Digital Radio from your kitchen worktop to your lug holes in high quality stereo sound. It was easy to use and it's sleek sliver exterior made it a good-looking addition to your kitchen. The Élan RV40 does all that and more in a darker, graphite coloured shell making it very hard to resist.
Probably the most drastic improvement to the functionality is the addition of PURE's ReVu Technology that lets you pause and rewind live radio without the need for an SD card. Now interruptions no longer need to spoil your enjoyment of a particular show or song as you can pause it while you answer the phone, tell the kids off or even answer a call of nature and come back to what you were listening to exactly where you left off.
Other useful improvements include one touch tuning with the 20 presets that can be used for DAB or FM (the original only had 16 split equally between the two), textSCAN you can use to pause and scroll though the on-screen text giving you time to note down a useful phone number or web address and a clock with kitchen timer you can use while you're cooking.
