Pure EcoPlus logo The Vita R1 has been earning high praise for its stylish looks, but the beauty of this DAB Digital Radio with FM tuner is not just skin deep as Vita claim to have set a "new benchmark for sound and design".
The cabinet for the R1 is manufactured from quality fibreboard (a material renowned for its excellent acoustic properties) clad in a choice of real wood or high gloss lacquer finishes. The softly rounded pressed steel corners add style and make the unit look and feel beautifully tactile for a finish and coolness of touch that's impossible to create with synthetic materials.

Beneath the surface Vita have carefully combined their long experience of loudspeaker design with state-of-the-art electronics. The result is a remarkable sound quality so whatever your choice of program material the R1 will bring a new level of involvement and enjoyment to your every day radio listening.

Vita Audio's Rotodial makes operation simple and intuitive. Rather than a confusing mass of controls there's a stylish and easy to use 'RotoDial' user interface making the R1 beautifully simple to operate.

The attention to detail is shown on the front panel where you will find a conveniently placed headphone socket and an input socket so an MP3 player or any other audio device can be easily connected. Information relating to broadcasts and set-up is shown through a clear black on white LCD display. When in standby the display is softly lit so it can be easily read at night when used as a bedside alarm radio. Meanwhile on the rear panel there's a pair of high quality gold plated phono outputs so the R1 can be used as the DAB/FM tuner in a complete audio system.

In addition Vita have added a unique feature - the R1's power supply. Rather than the usual heavy and bulky linear type you get a modern and compact switch mode for improved performance and a constant 12v DC supply with AC voltages ranging from 100-240v.
