You could use the earphone socket as an audio output, however bear in mind that the cable which is connected to the earphone socket with a pocket radio is also used as the aerial, so positioning of the cable may determine what the radio reception is like.

That depends on how well you care for it, and how often it is used. For example, if stored with a full charge, a lithium battery can lose 40% of its capacity in the space of a year. The usable life expectancy of a lithium battery under ideal conditions is 5-6 years or more.
