I have been listening to the Ashes at night with this on R5LX and it does work very well. Much more clear than R4 Longwave and a easy to use. The only downside I found is that you can only control the volume using the adaptor, and the lowest volume setting is not low enough. Also, you cannot turn it off whilst it is plugged in, and cannot set a timer, so if you do fall asleep with it plugged in the batteries will be flat in the morning. However, otherwise it is surprisingly good.
